Job Description: Kitchen Serving Team

 

Purpose: To heat, plate, and serve meals and clean up kitchen items used

 

Meals are served at Grace Mission six days a week. We use disposable plates, bowls, cups, and utensils so only pots and pans need to be washed after the meal is served. Serving teams come in about 30 minutes before meals are served to set up for meals. We keep a list of on-call people for last minute changes in teams and to fill in teams that need extra help.  

 

You must contact Delois Brown at delois@gracemission.net or call 850 224-3817 to schedule serving on a kitchen team or to be placed on the on-call list. Please give her your name, phone number, email address, and date(s) you want to serve. If signing up for on-call, please let her know what days and times you would normally be available to serve.

 

Location: Grace Mission, 303 W. Brevard St

 

Schedule:

  • 4-6 people Sunday from 8:00 am – 10:30am
  • 3-4 people Tuesday from 4:00pm – 6:00pm
  • 3 people Wednesday 8:00am – 9:30am (breakfast) and/or 11:00am – 1:00pm (lunch)
  • 3-4 people Friday 4:30pm – 6:30pm
  • 3-4 people Saturday 8:00am – 10:00am

 

Key Responsibilities:

Our cook prepares the food for the meals. Duties vary depending on meals served

Serving teams will:

  • Follow all sanitation and safety guidelines (hand washing, etc.)
  • Wear hair net (provided), cap, or pull hair back in kitchen if serving/working with food
  • Wear gloves while serving food (provided)
  • Plate fruit, salad, desserts, etc.
  • Serve the meal (cafeteria style) at assigned food/drink areas
    • Main entrée area
    • Cereal bar
    • Coffee/tea station
    • Fruit/pastry area
    • Clean up kitchen (pots, pans, counters)
    • Wipe down dinner tables as needed
    • Take out trash and replace garbage bags in cans
    • Help sweep and mop floor, if needed
    • Sign in and out each time you are here

 

Qualifications

  • Great attitude, quick to smile, desire to serve others a must
  • Reliable
